Full Day Biking Tour To Co Loa Citadel

Co Loa is located on Co Loa Commune, Dong Anh District, Hanoi. It was the capital of Au Lac, at the third century before Christian and the Van Xuan state under Ngo Quyen reign after Christian. In 1962, Co Loa was ranked as a historical national culture.Co Loa was the first ancient citadel of Vietnam. Lying to the North of Hanoi, the area offers beautiful rice paddy fields, old villages, and many pagodas & temples. This is one of the closest places where you can see the real countryside of Northern Vietnam.

ITINERARY:
08.00 am: Hanoi Old Quarter Car's driver will pick you up at the hotel and transfer to the small village of Bac Bien on the quiet outskirts of the city, on the east bank of the Red River.
08.20 am: Arrive at the house of the local guide houses. Welcome coffee, tea, and snacks. The tour guide will give a briefing session about the tour, bikes, and his village.
08.50 am: Start pedaling through the small alleys of Bac Bien village to the Duong River, then take a local ferry across the river.
Ride along the dike through the local villages. You will see many traditional typical houses, pagodas, temples, local markets and be surrounded by beautiful rice paddy fields and farms growing vegetables and corn.
Stop off at a local “bar” in a village for a rest and drink, & hear the interesting history of the An Duong Vuong Dynasty (over 2,000 years ago). Visit An Duong Vuong King Temple, Trong Thuy Prince’s Well, Community’s house.

Then, cycle around the remains of the ancient citadel and its beautiful gardens, and through more rice fields and villages. Have lunch at a local restaurant.
Go through quiet villages to the dike of the Red River. We reach a local house in the traditional style and chat with the villagers to learn about their lives and work. Cycling on top of the dike along the Red River, we will see where two great rivers meet. 
Stop by a local temple on the bank of the Red River. If we’re lucky, we may see a unique ceremony of Vietnamese people, “Len Dong” (going into a trance). Foreigners are fascinated by this unique ceremony!
Have a drink with a family in the village to know more about their life, and how the village and area are changing.
Return to the hotel by car. The tour finish at 4.30 pm.
